Ashley Leeds, LMSW, LSW

Ashley is a psychodynamic psychotherapist and Licensed Social Worker in NJ and NY. She graduated with her Masters in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University where she was the Mental Health Caucus leader and developed programming related to psychoeducation and implementation of mental health accessibility and resources. She also obtained her Bachelors in Psychology with Minors in Social Work and Gender and Sexuality Studies with a Certificate in Leadership Development from Rider University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Ashley has provided therapy to diverse groups of individuals in multiple demographics, including adults experiencing challenges with managing anxiety, depression, relational dynamics, and OCD in addition to children (in outpatient mental health and school settings). Ashley’s work with adolescents include college students (transitioning first-year and international students) and LGBTQIA+ individuals. Ashley has also worked with adults in outpatient mental health and in an intermediate care unit in a hospital. She utilizes a client-centered and strengths-based perspective in addition to a trauma-informed lens. Ashley guides individuals in areas of healthy versus unhealthy attachments, relational obstacles, loss and bereavement, academic and social support.

Ashley has also worked with others on adapting to new environments and balancing academic, social, and extra-curricular lives. She is an American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work (AAPCSW) Master’s Student Award for the Diana Siskind Excellence in
Writing Awards 2020 Recipient, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) and Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Yale Medical School Certificate Recipient, author of an Oxford Publishing chapter on School Social Work, and New York City Health Naloxone Trainee. Ashley trains in latest modalities and brings an integrative approach to best serve clients. Some of her techniques include meditation, play, acting, music, and movement. She looks forward to building a therapeutic alliance together, collaborating with you to create goals, and embarking on this journey together!
