Ariana is a warm and compassionate therapist who creates a supportive, collaborative space where clients can better understand themselves, navigate important life transitions, and develop greater confidence in their choices. She believes clients are the experts on their own lives and approaches therapy as a process of working together to understand what may be getting in the way of feeling more grounded, connected, and fulfilled.
Ariana has a particular interest in working with young adults and women navigating the transition into adulthood. These years can bring exciting opportunities while also creating uncertainty around identity, independence, family expectations, relationships, education, career direction, and one’s evolving sense of self. She believes therapy can provide a private space to thoughtfully explore these issues, including the tension that can sometimes arise between one’s individual needs and values and the expectations of family, community, culture, or significant others.
She is especially well positioned to support individuals navigating transitions between the United States and their home country as they adjust to significant differences in social and cultural environments. Having lived and worked in Israel herself, Ariana brings personal familiarity with the experience of moving between countries, cultures, communities, and expectations.
More broadly, Ariana works with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, relationship and family difficulties, identity concerns, adjustment challenges, and major life transitions. Her approach is trauma-informed and systems-oriented, recognizing that emotional well-being is influenced by the interaction between our internal experiences, relationships, families, communities, cultures, and environments.
Depending on each client’s needs, Ariana draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, somatic and mind-body techniques, and principles of Nonviolent Communication. Rather than applying one method to everyone, she works collaboratively with clients to deepen self-understanding, recognize recurring patterns, strengthen communication, and develop practical ways of approaching difficult emotions and relationships.
Ariana also brings significant cross-cultural experience to her work. Her previous professional and clinical experiences included working with immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and individuals navigating complicated legal and social systems. This background contributes to her sensitivity to cultural differences, belonging, family dynamics, and the ways in which a person’s environment and life circumstances can affect emotional well-being.
Ariana earned her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work and is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New Jersey. She is fluent in English and Hebrew.
Ariana provides in-person psychotherapy at Avita Integrative Care in Teaneck, New Jersey, as well as virtual therapy for clients throughout New Jersey.
